Blog Vacation Break

Well, it finally here. Time to pack up and leave! I'm really sure if I'm ready for this but, it's too late now! I'm sure we will have fun and Tayten will have a blast at Grandma Kathy's. I probably won't update until we return on Friday! Have a great week!

MOPS

Have I told anyone lately how much I love MOPS? I always look forward to Tuesday's when we go to MOPS. We have an action packed 2 hours. We all sit at our designated tables, eat a yummy breakfast with no children interruptions, have a speaker or two, make a fun craft and just talk. Well, today was no exception! It was our Spa Day!! They had lots of salons & spa's in Lafayette come in and pamper us. There was everything from makeup, manicures, wax treatments, pedicures, hair cuts, massages and lots of yummy food. Plus lots of cool door prizes. I won a very neat handcrafted necklace, bracelet and earring set. I got a massage which was wonderful, a manicure & my toenails painted. The best part was it was all free!! Tons of moms were getting hair cuts! Whats better than a free hair cut? Anyway, I had a great time and I really do enjoy MOPS.

Now it's back to reality.. I have a ton to do before we leave!

Paradise

Well... Paradise Island that is!!!

When I first heard about these trips that we got I said no way, I'm not going. I'm not leaving Tayten for that many days. Brandon said okay that's fine. Then I went back and forth on going and not going. Finally I let them talk me into it. But, that was way back then and this is now and I'm not sure that I'm ready. We have only ever left her once overnight and it killed me. Regardless, I have to go now because it's to late to cancel even if it kills me! So..my family is taking bets on how many times I call. Anyone wanna guess??

Tayten will do fine and I'll be fine once I get there and get distracted but Brandon has said that he might have to sedate me on trip to the airport and in the airplane!

Unexpected Visitor....

Early Wednesday morning the little visitor known as the FLU BUG stopped by our house for a visit. It hit me on Wednesday morning, Brandon in the middle of the night Wednesday night and Tayten well..she has had a low fever and very clinging since Wednesday but that's it. Brandon definitely got it the worst out of all of us. So since I have been feeling better I have been cleaning, sanitizing and washing everything.
Getting sick is not what I had on the agenda for this week so now it's time to get moving and motivated since our trip will be here in no time!!

Hopefully the little visitor doesn't come see you!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day around here was pretty low key. We got Tayten a few little things, mostly snacks, a new movie and a few other odds and ends. She loves to take anything out of a bag so she was very delighted, but mostly loved the yogurt melts. We had to take them away from her to get her to open the rest of the things and cards! Brandon and I decided not to get each other anything since we are going to the Bahama's, but we did eat lunch at Cracker Barrel Looking at her new book

Not Me Monday

Our pantry in our house definitely does "not" look this picture. In fact I took the picture at another house! I would never let it get that bad. Nope not me!!

Just so you know: that was my pantry but one "snow" day at home fixed it right up!!

Also, just this past week I would never make my child wear the same outfit 3 days out of the week just because I wanted to get my money out of the Valentines outfit. Nope not me! NEVER!! (but it was a cute outfit and she was very festive)

17 Months

17 Months old today!!

Here's the rundown:

• Loves to climb on ANYTHING
• Always take her pants and socks off as soon as you put them on her
• Wears crocs around the house almost all day long
• Calls for her pacie when she needs/wants it. She walks around the house saying pacie, pacie over and over again.
• No longer takes bottles
• Cheese is her favorite food
• Knows where her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hair, and piggies(toes) are located.
• Points out a ball anytime see she's one
• Sleeps in a big girl bed
• is SUCH A BIG GIRL!!!

Snowy days and play dates

Today was the 1st day we have been out of the house since it has snowed and we were ready. I did get a lot of things accomplished since we were stuck inside. I reorganized two closets which desperately needed it. I still haven't taken Tayten out to play in the snow mainly because I don't want to bundle her up for 10 minutes outside. So..Today we had a play date at Jessica's. She is a sweet lady that I meet at MOPS. They are originally from Iowa, but her husband is here teaching at Purdue on an Military assignment. It's sad for both of us to think that Lafayette is only a stop along the way since we have become such great friends. Her son Billy is the sweetest little guy, and Tayten loves to play with him. They are only 2 months apart so it works out great. Thanks so much Jessica for having us over! We had so much fun but I forgot my camera so I have no pictures!

Tomorrow night is our 1st MOPS and POPS event at MOPS. John and Kendra Smiley are speaking about there book,"Do your kids a favor: LOVE YOUR SPOUSE" It's a great book so you might want to check it out!!

UP!!!

Tayten is really starting to laugh when she doe's something funny, or thinks something is funny. She has this giant belly laugh, and it normally lasts a few minutes complete with her bending over and then falling to the floor laughing.

Maybe I'll try to get a video clip :)

Craft Project

Before the Super Bowl I thought I would try to make Tayten a Colts shirt. We haven't watched a game all season but I thought she could at least be festive. I think that it turned out pretty good and by the end of the day it had only lost one crystal. She received lots of compliments at church and lunch so I guess the small headaches paid offFinished Product"Our" Colts Cheerleader

Dr. Brown!!

Tayen is no longer taking bottles as of last Wednesday. She was down to taking only one before bedtime and that was the hardest to break. I decided that night that I would put her milk in the "Most expensive cup in the world" and try to see if she would take it. And..she did.Over the weekend, I washed & sterilized all the bottles and put them into retirement. I'm so glad that I don't have to wash all those parts anymore!
This would be the new cup! I bought it way before she was one thinking that she might like it since it had a longer spout and she hated it. She would scream and have nothing to do with the cup. I had kind of given up hope but seeing as how these bad boys are $ 10.95 a piece I had to try again (more like for the 10th time). I'm so glad I did. Now I need to invest in more than one!!

" Not Me Monday"

I don't have much this week but at least I remembered to post it. I promise I'll try to start remembering!

I'm "NOT" hoping that it snows tonight and tomorrow morning so that MOPS will be canceled so I do "not" have to make strawberry jello salad . I love going to MOPS but if it's canceled tomorrow I do "not" want 2 huge pans of jello with fruit in it to go to waste.

I'm also "not" jealous of my mom and sisters tanning for Disney world. Would I be jealous of a tan body? Nope "not" me..that's why I'm going to start tanning too!!!

Hair Bows

No little girl should have this many bows, and that's not even close to all of them. I had been keeping them in a box but the box just wasn't cutting it anymore So I had an idea. I looked around online to see where I could get a bow holder and how much they were. When I figured out that they were really cute and really expensive I figured I could make one. So my creative juices started flowing and here you have it: My 1st bow holder!! I did it in pink and brown to match Tayten's room. The grand total to make the thing was $5.57 compared to $25 I think I did great!

Missed it Again

Well, I haven't been doing a good job at keeping up with "Not Me Monday" I guess I'm to perfect! Just kidding, actually I just haven't had the time. I've been scrap booking like crazy lately. Tayten will be 17 months on the 12th and I'm just now scrapping the birth. I'm way behind. So I've made a goal to at least try to get half way caught up by the end of the month. I'm not sure that is a reasonable goal since we have trips planned but it never hurts to try. I really got motivated to get moving on Tayten's book when a lady that I knows daughter is 9 months old and she's up to six months on her book, plus has twins and works full time! So I have no excuse!

In other news.. It's getting closer to our Bahama's trip and I don't know who should be more nervous. Me or Grandma Kathy. I'm nervous about leaving her for so long and after Tayten ransacking Kathy's house last night she may wondering what she got herself into!!
